Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a musical based on the  1964 children's novel by Roald Dahl, with book by David Greig, music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

For this production, Mountview took a stripped back approach and asked the audience to rely on their "Pure Imagination"- Which unlocked a world of endless possibilities for the creative team. The dance and movement work in this production was used to change the temperature and atmosphere of a fairly bare space. Working together with all departments to figure out how much or how little we needed for each scene, it was a fine exploration of "Less is more."
